MSP Systems Engineer (Level 2) Manhattan, NY (Hybrid)

Career Path to Senior Engineer / Security Engineer

This fast-growing, cloud-first and security-driven Managed Service Provider is hiring an MSP Systems Engineer (Level 2) to support continued growth across its New York City client base. The firm is expanding rapidly and adding new clients, maturing service delivery, and investing heavily in its engineering team, tooling, and long-term scalability.

This organization does not hire engineers to keep them stuck in repetitive Tier 1 work. Engineers here are given meaningful responsibility, exposure to modern technologies, and a clearly defined path forward. The role is ideal for an MSP engineer who wants more ownership, deeper technical exposure, and upward mobility and not a dead-end support role.

Engineers receive hands-on experience with Azure, modern Microsoft environments, security tooling, automation, and real-world project deployments. Quarterly performance reviews are used specifically to map career progression, whether that path leads to Senior Engineer, Security Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or Architect. The company actively invests in engineers through paid certifications, structured learning, and continuous exposure to new technologies.

This is an opportunity for an MSP professional whose career momentum matters.

What This Role Will Do

(High-level responsibilities and no “service desk” framing)

  • Support, optimize, and evolve cloud and security environments across a diverse SMB and mid-market client base.
  • Administer and enhance Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, Windows Server, and modern endpoint platforms.
  • Participate in cloud modernization initiatives including migrations, identity hardening, and Zero Trust alignment.
  • Assist in designing, deploying, and improving cloud-based infrastructure with a security-first mindset.
  • Work alongside senior engineers on projects, upgrades, and environment standardization efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, security, and efficiency across client environments.
  • Engage with clients in a consultative, trusted-advisor capacity rather than reactive ticket-based support.

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience working in an MSP or cloud-centric IT services environment.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, and Windows Server.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware and/or Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with modern endpoint management and security tooling.
  • A growth-oriented mindset with curious, proactive, and motivated to advance technically.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.

Why Engineers Choose This MSP

  • Strong growth trajectory and expanding client base and technical depth.
  • Cloud & security-focused work and engineers are not siloed into low-impact tasks.
  • Defined advancement path with quarterly reviews with measurable milestones.
  • Paid certifications, Microsoft, Azure, security, and infrastructure.
  • Hands-on project exposure with migrations, cloud builds, redesigns, and security initiatives.
  • High trust environment with autonomy, ownership, and respect for technical talent.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $75,000–$90,000 base salary, with clear upward mobility
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Certification reimbursement with salary increases tied to completion
