Commercial Estimator

A company known for delivering high-quality commercial and residential projects across Arizona needs a Commercial Estimator. This role owns their craft, hits deadlines without excuses, and thrives in a fast-moving, no-drama construction environment. This role drives the full estimating process for commercial projects, from reviewing drawings and soliciting subcontractor bids to building competitive proposals for TIs, industrial builds, storage projects, multifamily, and ground-up developments. You will manage multiple estimates at once, work closely with a tight-knit team, and step into a company with serious momentum and zero micromanagement. They’re looking for a proactive, energetic estimator who takes initiative, solves problems quickly, and shows up ready to deliver results every single day.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 / Year DOE

Commercial Estimator Responsibilities

• Review and analyze drawings, bid requirements, and project documents
• Solicit and qualify subcontractor bids to ensure strong coverage
• Prepare full soup-to-nuts estimates, including proposals and supporting documentation
• Build competitive bids across TIs, industrial/storage, and ground-up projects
• Manage approximately three estimates at a time while hitting all deadlines
• Collaborate with the internal project team and leadership throughout the bid cycle
• Perform occasional site visits
• Utilize PlanSwift or BlueBeam for takeoffs and Microsoft Excel for estimating formulas
• Maintain detailed schedules using Microsoft Project
  
  

Commercial Estimator Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of commercial estimating experience
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas
• Experience with PlanSwift or BlueBeam preferred
• Familiarity with ground-up, industrial, TI, multifamily, storage, or assisted-living projects is a plus
• Ability to communicate confidently with subcontractors and internal teams
• Strong follow-through, deadline discipline, and a bias for action
• Collaborative personality
• Degree is not required if experience is strong
