Description Boulder County Clerk and Recorder's Office Department is seeking to hire a Vote Center Assistant. The Elections Vote Center Assistant must be committed to supporting the success of projects while working with a large, diverse group of people. They must also be committed to practicing our values of adaptability, service, equity and inclusion, and alignment.
The ideal candidate has a desire to serve the public, can learn new systems quickly, can follow standard operating procedures, is able to set clear goals and prioritize tasks, has excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and is competent in MS Office (Outlook and Excel). This is a fast-paced job in a dynamic environment, and it is vital for the candidate to enjoy working within a team while also being adept at flowing with changes. This is an hourly, non-benefited position that will work 20-40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm.
During peak election periods, the hours will be full-time with required overtime hours; pre- and post-election hours will vary (15-20 hours during non-peak period). This position will require flexibility, as some Fridays, evenings, and weekends will be required during peak election periods. This position will work out of 1750 33rd St., Boulder, Colorado
Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime). Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work. Examples of Duties Assist in the hiring and training of temporary election workers in accordance with state, county and Clerk and Recorder policies, including administering computer placement testing Maintain the schedule for temporary workers during training and Vote Center open times, including initiating and answering phone calls and emails, and updating information on the worker management platform Test equipment at and assist with the setup of Vote Centers Assist in the daily review and organization of materials returned from Vote Centers Answer questions and troubleshoot issues in multiple group chats to support Vote Centers during open time Drive to locations throughout the County to perform site visits and support day-to-day functions of Vote Centers Oversee election judges during daily review of in-person ballots Perform data entry tasks to maintain proper compliance and record keeping Performs related work, as required May be reassigned during emergency situations Required Qualifications PLEASE NOTE: When completing your application describe all relevant education and experience, as applications are assessed based on the required qualifications listed.
