What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Desk Intern position at Boulder County?
Boulder County Information Technology Department is seeking to hire 2 (two) Service Desk Interns. This position is an hourly, temporary position and can end at any time.
This position requires someone responsive, patient, and interested in technology. This role requires consistent communication with technology users and the comfort to ask for help from coworkers who may be more knowledgeable or have elevated access. The Service Desk Intern will assist with troubleshooting and replacing computers as incidents and requests come in to our ticketing system. Tickets must be responded to in a timely, professional manner. We work with a diverse group of coworkers, both internal in IT and the rest of County, and expect everyone to be treated respectfully.
This is an hourly, non-benefited position that will work 20-30 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, depending on availability of applicants. This position will work out of 2025 14th St., Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $28.00 Hourly

Windows 11 and Office 365 troubleshooting and support Imaging workstations unique to different county departments Responding to voicemails and tickets Delivering, picking up, and installing workstation equipment at various county locations Working with other Service Desk staff to troubleshoot issues when there is a knowledge gap Gathering and documenting e-waste for pickup program Pulling hard drives from e-waste computers Communicating and developing relationships with fellow county staff in various departments Troubleshooting 2FA (two-factor authentication) issues or setting up new phones - Performs related work, as required

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of first day of employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Windows 11 and Office 365
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software
- Experience troubleshooting Windows profiles with Active Directory or Azure
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Office 365, 2FA, and ticketing systems
