This is a year-round position which will start promptly.
Youth Advisors will work in a hybrid format (both virtually and in-person). In-person meetings may take place at three County building locations:

Examples of Duties
- Plan and lead Healthy Futures Youth Coalition meetings with the HFC Program Specialist and AmeriCorps VISTAs
- Create promotional flyers, presentation slides, and facilitator guides for HFYC meetings using applications such as Canva, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Participate in all required training and conferences
- Support the recruitment of new HFYC members
- Help manage the Boulder County Youth Calendar
- Plan and design content for the HFYC Instagram account
- Represent HFYC at meetings, community events, schools, youth serving organizations, and with community partners as needed
- Attend weekly HFYC Team meetings
- Participate on the HFC Steering Committee
- Advocate for youth substance use prevention, harm reduction, and mental health promotion within Boulder County Public Health and the community
- Help develop resources and participate in outreach and education efforts that support youth substance use prevention, reduce stigma, and promote youth mental health and wellbeing
- Collaborate with other Boulder County Youth Advisors, youth leadership groups, and adult partners
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

Education & Experience

- Current enrollment in high school or a GED program, or a recent high school/GED graduation
- For applicants age 18 or older, a job offer is contingent upon passing a background check with fingerprinting. A criminal background does not automatically disqualify applicants unless the charge is related to child safety or welfare.

- Youth Advisors are responsible for getting to work and attending in-person meetings or events using their own transportation or public transit - an EcoPass is provided
- Must be available for all HFC and HFYC meetings (typically two to three Wednesday evenings per month from 5:30–8:30 p.m., subject to change), except in cases of illness or emergency

- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Ability to work remotely, come into the office, and attend in-person community events - a laptop can be provided if needed
- Interest in learning meeting planning, presenting, group facilitation, and public speaking

- Time management and communication skills, with willingness to continue building these skills
