Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department Colorado State University Extension 4-H is seeking to hire a 4-H Summer Program Aide/Intern. The Extension Program Aide/Intern for 4-H Youth Development will develop program development skills, volunteer coordination experience, event planning/management skills, etc. The individual will have the opportunity to develop, deliver, and evaluate youth educational programs. Programming may also include livestock events, day camps, outreach events, and other 4-H programs. The program aide will assist in supporting the entire 4-H Youth Development Program in Boulder County and supporting the County Fair and all 4-H events. As a member of the 4-H team, this individual will be assisting the 4-H Staff with the 4-H club program.
This is an hourly, non-benefited position that will work 30-40 hours per week, a varied schedule including Monday - Friday 9:00am - 3:30pm with some weekends and evenings required. This position will work out of 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $25.00 Hourly

Examples of Duties
- Support 4-H program planning, delivery and execution of tasks
- Work with 4-H staff to plan county 4-H programs including coordinating volunteers and planning events and overall management of tasks from start to finish
- Coordinate interview judging day paperwork and tasks with 4-H Secretary and County 4-H Specialists
- Work with 4-H Livestock County Specialist to support livestock educational events and shows during fair
- Develop, deliver and evaluate youth educational programs
- Intern will develop, deliver, and evaluate youth educational programs with guidance on program from 4-H Staff
- Carries out other related duties as assigned by the 4-H County Specialists and/or 4-H staff
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications
- Current enrollment or completed coursework as an undergraduate college student in a degree program; or have work experience, with a focus on youth development, education, science, agriculture, or related field
- Highly self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision, self-starter
- Capable of balancing multiple projects at the same time
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work on a team
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends
- Computer and office equipment experience
- Knowledgeable and experienced with technology including various computer programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Frequently lifts up to 30 lbs. and carries up to 50 ft.
- Occasionally lifts up to 30 lbs. from floor to knuckle
- Frequently lifts up to 20 lbs. from shoulder to overhead
- Occasionally pushes and pulls items weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Occasionally performs bi-lateral lift of 30 lbs. and carries up to 50 ft.
