The Borough of Shippensburg is seeking a motivated individual to join the Sanitation Department as an Equipment Operator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the municipal government industry while serving the community.
What You’ll Do
· Collect daily sanitation routes
· Drive dump truck and operate vehicles and equipment from time to time
· Perform minor maintenance on trucks and equipment
· Clean vehicles thoroughly
· Operate trucks, equipment, power tools, and hand tools
· Use basic building and grounds maintenance equipment
· Operate as flagger when needed
· Inform supervisor of preventative maintenance issues with equipment, truck or sanitation route
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
· Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
· Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting, digging, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

Pay: $20.50 - $25.00 per hour
