What are the responsibilities and job description for the WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR II position at BOROUGH OF SHIPPENSBURG?
The Borough of Shippensburg is seeking a motivated individual to join the Waste Water Department as a Wastewater Treatment Operator II. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the municipal wastewater industry while serving the community.
As part of the Department, you will help operate and maintain the public sewer collection and distribution system that processes waste for thousands of customers throughout the Borough and surrounding service area.
What You’ll Do
· Complete in house laboratory analysis
· Maintain analytical records in compliance with PA DEP
· Collect and prepare daily, weekly, quarterly and annual samples to send to outside laboratory
· Prepare monthly PA DEP reporting
· Operate trucks, equipment, power tools, and hand tools
· Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and use of SCADA
· Assist with operational decisions relative to effective and efficient operations
· Assist with cleaning and calibration of ORP and DO Analyzers
· Participate in an on-call rotation
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
· Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
· Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting, digging, climbing, and working in confined spaces
· Ability to obtain Wastewater Operator License, required, or ability to obtain within 24 months
Wastewater experience is helpful but not required.

Pay: $20.50 - $25.00 per hour
