We are currently hiring a full-time Buyer to join our growing team and support our operation and customer needs.

This position is responsible for the procurement of materials and supplies both domestically and internationally for company operations while maintaining purchasing practices and procedures. The Buyer must ensure effective use of company resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains optimum inventory levels in line with company standards and requirements to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.

Conduct commodity buying activities including specialized, technical and international.

Ensures the delivery of materials as promised, through continuous vendor follow-up and communication.

International and domestic procurement and/or contracting for material, supplies, equipment and services for the operation of the company, utilizing contingency plan for all critical inventory items.

Maintain supplier scorecards and incoming non-conforming material.

Maintains purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with suppliers.

Maintains working knowledge of all compliance regulations and laws regarding purchasing policies.

Keeps abreast of materials and material pricing trends that affect company products.

Ensures that Borla standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all purchasing department functions.

Execute procedures for purchasing.

Utilize Borla's ERP system to maximize all purchasing activities.

Manage and report applicable Key Performance Indicators.

Work with all other Borla business functions as directed and deemed necessary.

Analyze, communicate and implement cost savings initiatives.

Contribute and network with associates and suppliers in a positive manner to optimize their motivation and performance.

Comply and support company quality policies and procedures.

Miscellaneous duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS or AS degree in Business or a management related field from an accredited college, university, or technical school; and a minimum of five (5) years of verifiable experience in a professional purchasing position;

Or

10 years experience in purchasing or related department in an automotive facility or manufacturing facility preferred.

Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills needed for dealing effectively with outside vendors

Prior metal products experience preferred.

Experience in domestic and international procurement preferred.

Extensive knowledge in purchasing principles, practices and regulations in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Excellent negotiation skills are essential.

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills required along with the ability to multi-task.

Ability to provide production schedule to suppliers as needed.

Ability to exercise good judgment and problem solving skills.

Capacity to analyze and evaluate supplier offerings to ensure that the best quality products are purchased in a timely manner at a competitive price.

Self-motivated with the ability to follow-up with supplier commitments and assignments with little or no supervision.

Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.

Ability to establish and maintain harmonious and cooperative relationships with external customers, internal customers and external suppliers.

Working knowledge of Acumatica ERP system preferred.

Working knowledge of IATF-16949 or ISO-9001 preferred.

Microsoft Office experience required.
