A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to join its busy and sophisticated Intellectual Property practice in Washington, DC.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trademark professional who enjoys substantive work, significant responsibility, and direct involvement in U.S. and international trademark portfolios. You will work alongside accomplished attorneys and legal professionals representing a diverse client base on trademark prosecution, portfolio management, brand protection, and related intellectual property matters.

What You'll Do

• Manage U.S. and international trademark prosecution matters from filing through registration and renewal.
• Prepare and coordinate U.S. and foreign trademark applications and related filings.
• Conduct preliminary trademark searches and assist with preparing search reports and correspondence.
• Draft and prepare Statements of Use, extensions, declarations, renewals, and other USPTO filings.
• Prepare trademark portfolio and status reports for attorneys and clients.
• Coordinate international filings and communicate with foreign counsel regarding prosecution and renewals.
• Prepare foreign filing instructions, documentation, and cost estimates.
• Assist with trademark assignments and other ownership changes.
• Coordinate legalization and authentication of documents when required.
• Assist with U.S. Customs trademark recordations.
• Support domain name registrations, transfers, and maintenance.
• Assist with copyright applications and related matters.
• Maintain accurate files, deadlines, and matter information while managing multiple priorities.

What We're Looking For

• 2 years of trademark experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
• Paralegal certificate and/or bachelor's degree.
• Experience with U.S. trademark prosecution and USPTO procedures.
• International trademark experience strongly preferred.
• Copyright experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to independently manage a busy workload and competing deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a deadline-driven professional environment.
• Ability to meet an annual billable-hours expectation of approximately 1,550 hours.

Compensation & Benefits

$88,000–$101,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, with eligibility for overtime.
