What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Manager position at Boly:Welch?
Job Number: 32220
Salary: $85K-$95K DOE bonus
Industry: Production
Must Haves
Our client, a growing global production organization in the Columbia Gorge, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to step into a highly visible, hands-on role. This position offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted partner to leaders and employees while helping stabilize, rebuild, and evolve people operations during a period of organizational change and growth.
As HR Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day human resources operations and act as a key advisor on employee relations, performance management, and workforce administration. You’ll partner closely with leadership to execute human resource strategies, ensuring that they align with business operations and goals. Some experience as a recruiter will make you a competitive candidate here, as you’ll be responsible for light recruitment and employee relations.
In this role, you’ll need to have a strict eye for detail, as you’ll be providing oversight of payroll and timekeeping in partnership with a third-party vendor, including missed punches, approvals, and wage and hour compliance. Here, you’ll lead process improvement initiatives across HR systems and practices, support safety programs in collaboration with site leaders, and help analyze workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement across locations.
Success in this role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to navigate complex employee dynamics with confidence and empathy. You’ll need to be a strong communicator, comfortable working across all levels of an organization, and able to balance urgency with thoughtfulness. Adaptability, problem solving skills, and the ability to build credibility in a changing environment are essential, as is a practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to HR generalist work.
This role is fully on-site at our client’s office in central Hood River, where you’ll have no shortage of walking paths, restaurants, and coffee houses to explore.
Your New Organization
Our client is a well-established production organization with a committed workforce and a clear strategy for the future. While there is always progress to be made, leadership here has invested in strengthening morale, restoring trust, and creating sustainable systems and processes. This is a compelling opportunity for an HR professional who wants to make a meaningful impact and grow alongside an organization in transition.
Some of the generous benefits our client offers include fully covered medical and vision insurance, 80% covered dental insurance, PTO, 401(k) with 3% match, and a 15% bonus!
