Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and perform both administrative and operational duties for the assigned shift.
- Monitor daily activities of material coordinators; provide guidance, resolve issues, and answer questions.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to the receipt and movement of materials.
- Oversee work processes to ensure quality standards and cost efficiency.
- Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and security of company equipment.
- Enforce and monitor compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Perform duties of a material coordinator, such as identifying material needs and arranging transport to work areas.
- Strong understanding of plant operations, particularly material coordination.
- Effective communication and team leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics; familiarity with shipyard terminology.
- Prior experience in shipbuilding and material procurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Capacity to lead teams and collaborate effectively within a management structure.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: 5 (Five) Years of Experience in material logistics/handling or relevant shipyard craft roles.
- Background as a toolroom attendant or equivalent experience yielding the required competencies.
