This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics to determine material requirements and to maintain documentation for material movement and storage.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist Material Control with the tracking and management of all warehouse inventory.
- Kit materials based on spreadsheets or generated lists from Central Planning.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to check material availability or identify back-ordered items.
- Arrange for the transportation of available materials to job sites.
- Follow up on back-ordered materials to ensure timely availability.
- Maintain accurate paperwork for material receipt, storage, and movement.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with shipyard terminology.
- Competency with spreadsheets and inventory management systems.
- 1 year prior shipbuilding experience.
- 2 years Experience working in a warehouse or materials control environment.
- High School diploma or GED required.
