Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County.
Boley Centers, Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a full-time Supported Housing Specialist to provide support services to consumers residing in the community or in a permanent housing setting of a supported housing program. Services include placement, landlord negotiations, financial assistance, crisis intervention and basic living skills training and support in the least restrictive environment. Services are designed to promote independent living and mental health stability.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses and screens consumers, working directly with consumers to monitor and document mental health status, medication compliance, progress and performance toward independent living. Provides crisis management services and individual counseling as needed.
- Obtains financial resources and plans, conducts and documents sessions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Documents all client services provided within a forty-eight hour period and maintain productivity standards to levels set by the Department.
- Provides direct/indirect assistance, guidance and instruction in tasks related to the maintenance of independent living skills and completes reports and basic living skills service provision in accordance with policies and procedures. Also, provides one-to-one counseling and monitors consumer progress.
- Promotes a safe and clean residence, ensuring needed repairs are reported and completed. Locates potential and suitable community housing and negotiates with landlords to assure resolution of problems and disputes.
- Transports consumers, as needed, in own vehicle or agency vehicle, when available and maintains required insurance coverage on vehicle and notifies insurance company they use their vehicle for work.
- Maintains regular communication and coordinates client care with team members and other service providers and participates in group meetings/professional staffing to ensure appropriate delivery of services.
- Assists consumers with completion of paperwork for available community resources (i.e. food stamps, social security benefits, vocational rehabilitation, HUD, etc.). Develops supports and/or services as needed or desired by consumers that promote more effective independent living.
- Maintains tenant files, records and other documentation in accordance with requirements and prepares written narratives of service plans and interventions.
- Assists consumers with resolution of disputes/problems, ensuring proper procedures are employed regarding the handling of grievances or complaints.
- Makes referrals to providers as appropriate.
- Communicates program services to internal/external case management and DCF staff.
- Performs monthly apartment inspections and completes accompanying documentation if consumer lives in a Boley-owned apartment.
- Reports unusual events, activities and incidents.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree Required. Human Services related field preferred. Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university.
- Minimum of one year experience working with the severely mentally ill, community services and resources experience with property management/tenant--landlord issues preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Florida driver's license, auto insurance and own transportation vehicle required, with vehicle work coverage insurance strongly encouraged.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check and drug screen.
