ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County. Boley Centers, Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a part-time Supported Housing Peer Specialist to work with the Treatment team to provide psycho-social rehabilitation services to consumers.

JOB DUTIES
- Assist the treatment team with assessing strengths and needs of individuals in the program by directly observing/teaching skills such as housekeeping, shopping, transportation, budgeting, medication management and laundry and planning leisure activities.
- Implement treatment plans, with the Treatment team, that seek to restore consumers' functioning in key life roles such as work, family and community.
- Build working relationship, and maintain regular contact, with consumers and communicate consumers' needs to Treatment team and report unusual events, activities and incidents to supervisor or appropriate team member.
- Assist consumers in accessing resources in the community such as recreational activities, work, medical, dental, etc. and visit consumers at programs or their residence as scheduled or requested.
- Document consumer and program activities.
- Mentor consumers in role recovery activities such as symptom management, relapse prevention, stress reduction and work readiness.
- Transport and teach consumers' to use public transportation to support their independence.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED equivalency.
Six months of responsible work experience, preferably involving interactions with the public.
Knowledge of Recovery Model, counseling techniques, verbal crisis intervention and mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a consumer of mental health services as defined by the Agency.
Valid Florida driver's license required.
Must pass a level II background check and drug screen.
This position requires meeting the eligibility requirements of the Agency's vehicle insurance carrier when driving an Agency vehicle or a personal vehicle transporting consumers. Own transportation vehicle and insurance preferred.
