Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County.
Boley Centers, Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a full-time Housing Specialist who will be responsible for maintaining property and program waiting lists, processing housing applications and assisting with monthly reporting requirements for funding sources and internal audits.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct eligibility interviews, verifiy incomes, conduct background checks and complete intake procedures, voucher issuance, HAP execution and fee agreements.
- Respond to calls from tenants, landlords and vendors.
- Prepare monthly status eligibility reports and HAP contracts for owner/landlord.
- Conduct annual, interim or moves by program participant re-exams.
- Prepare notices for collection/follow-up with tenants regarding payment for late fees and rent.
- Assist Housing Team Leader with briefing families regarding rules and regulations of Section 8 housing programs.
- Maintain program participant case load files in accordance with standards issued by HUD and other funding agencies.
- Maintain client files and computer records to ensure accuracy based on HUD regulations and policies and procedures to include contract renewals for Section 8 housing participants, including interims and recertification/review of income and household composition.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- An Associates degree, or two years college equivalent, is required with two years of experience in public or private housing management operations. With a Bachelor's degree, at least one year of experience in public or private housing management operations. Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university.
- At least two years of nonprofit experience, demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and demonstrated professional writing and verbal communication skills. COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist) certification desired; or, must acquire within 90 days of hire.
SPECIAL REQUIREMNTS
- Valid Florida driver's license, own transportation vehicle and vehicle insurance required.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check and drug screen.
