Cardiologist
BMS Family Health & Wellness Centers (BMS) | Multiple Sites
Part-Time (14 hours per week) | Exempt
BMS Family Health & Wellness Centers (BMS), a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a part-time Cardiologist to provide high-quality cardiovascular care to adult patients in a community health setting.
About the Role
Provide outpatient cardiovascular care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic cardiac conditions. Work with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to improve access to specialty care and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Interpret cardiovascular diagnostic testing, as applicable
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Collaborate with primary care, nursing, and care coordination teams
- Ensure timely referrals, continuity of care, and accurate documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, HRSA, and managed care guidelines
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
- Active, unrestricted New York State medical license and DEA
- Hospital admitting privileges or ability to obtain
- Commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive care
Preferred
- Experience in an FQHC or safety-net setting
- Experience serving diverse or underserved populations
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) a plus
