We're looking for an experienced Cafe Manager to lead our front-of-house team and help ensure every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and excited to return. Whether it is a beloved morning ritual for our regulars or a standout experience for travelers, you will play a vital role in crafting those exceptional moments for every visitor who walks through our doors.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll coach, support, and inspire our front-of-house team while partnering with our Head Baker to ensure every part of the bakery works together seamlessly.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, coaching teams, improving operations, and creating exceptional customer experiences. You'll spend time on the floor with the team, but you'll also think about staffing, scheduling, training, workflow, and how to make tomorrow run better than today.

What You'll Do

As our Front of House Manager, you'll be responsible for creating an environment where guests feel welcome, the team enjoys coming to work, and every visit reflects the hospitality Blue Loon is known for.:

• Leading, coaching, and supporting our front-of-house team.
• Create memorable guest experiences by engaging with customers, recognizing regulars, and helping every visitor feel like they're part of the Blue Loon community.
• Creating schedules and ensuring shifts are appropriately staffed.
• Creating exceptional guest experiences while resolving concerns with empathy, professionalism, and confidence.
• Overseeing café cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and presentation.
• Training, mentoring, and developing team members.
• Partnering in the hiring process by recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding front-of-house team members. 
• Working closely with our Head Baker & Back of House Manager to ensure smooth communication and efficient service.
• Monitoring inventory levels for front-of-house supplies and beverages.
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, efficiency, and the overall guest experience.
• Leading by example and jumping in wherever needed during busy periods.

We're Looking for Someone Who

• Has at least 1 year of leadership or management experience in the food service or hospitality industry.
• Leads with positivity, professionalism, and accountability.
• Enjoys coaching others and helping people succeed.
• Enjoys meeting people, remembering names, and building genuine relationships with customers and the community. 
• Stays calm, organized, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Has excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Takes pride in creating exceptional customer experiences.
• Is dependable, self-motivated, and eager to continually improve.

Schedule

This is a full-time position (approximately 32–40 hours per week) and includes weekends and holidays as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

• $22.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience, plus participation in shared tip pool (typically an additional $3–$5 per hour).
