We’re looking for a skilled Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing and material handling systems. This role is well-suited for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced production environments and enjoys owning controls solutions from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and build controls panels and automation equipment
- Develop electrical drawings and control schematics
- Create and implement control architectures and logic
- Program and modify PLCs using ladder logic
- Design, configure, and support HMI applications
- Develop, maintain, and improve controls standards
- Lead system testing, debugging, and functional buyoff
- Provide controls support for assembly and production line equipment
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in controls or automation engineering
- Experience supporting material handling systems, automated equipment, or machine design
- Strong PLC programming background
- Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or Siemens platforms preferred
- Hands-on experience with electrical hardware and schematic development
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in manufacturing environments
Preferred Technical Experience
- Allen-Bradley PLC5, SLC, ControlLogix platforms
- Siemens Step 5 / Step 7
- Robotics systems including ABB / IRC5
- Drafting and design tools such as AutoCAD and EPLAN
- Rockwell software: RSLogix 5/500/5000, RSView, PanelBuilder
- Industrial networks: DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, DH , Ethernet/IP
- Machine vision systems, particularly Cognex
