Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a public sector organization, is seeking a skilled Procurement Sourcing Agent. This role is responsible for strategically supporting procurement requisitions, issuing ITB and RFQ solicitations, evaluating supplier quotes, and coordinating purchase order activity for formal procurement requests.
Job Duties
- Process procurement requisitions for formal purchasing requests over $25,000 and under $1 million
- Issue Invitations to Bid and Requests for Quote for goods, services, and construction-related procurement needs
- Lead procurement meetings, including pre-bid meetings, bid openings, award meetings, negotiation meetings, and bidder debriefings
- Evaluate supplier quotes for pricing accuracy, competitiveness, lead time, specification alignment, and scope compliance
- Issue purchase orders in accordance with purchasing policies, procedures, and procurement requirements
- Maintain procurement records, vendor contacts, quote history, and supporting documentation
- Monitor contract performance to confirm compliance with contractual obligations and identify required changes
- Support procurement-related research, vendor follow-up, FOIA response preparation, and cost-saving initiatives
Skills & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or a closely related field
- 5 years of full-time experience in purchasing, procurement, or contract administration
- Experience processing purchase requisitions, supplier quotes, and purchase orders
- Experience issuing or supporting RFQ, ITB, or formal bid solicitation processes
- Working knowledge of purchasing policies, procurement procedures, and supplier evaluation methods
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and internet-based software
- Ability to perform calculations, pricing comparisons, and basic account tracking
Desired
- Knowledge of public procurement laws, regulations, policies, and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting procurement activities within a government, municipal, or public sector environment; Knowledge of government structure, budgeting processes, and procurement approval workflows
- Experience reviewing supplier performance, contract compliance, and corrective action needs
- Experience preparing procurement summaries, bid documentation, or project-related reports
- Familiarity with vendor sourcing through catalogs, trade journals, directories, industry resources, and online research tools
