Senior Attorney — Plaintiff-Side Employment Litigation

Bloom Law PLLC | Seattle, WA | Partnership Track

Bloom Law PLLC is a woman-owned Seattle employment firm that represents individual employees in discrimination, retaliation, and hostile work environment cases. We build cases to win in front of juries. We are looking for a seasoned plaintiff-side litigator—six to ten years of experience—who wants to try cases, lead a case team, and grow with the firm toward equity partnership.

About the Role

This is a senior, partnership-track position reporting to Managing Partner and Lead Trial Counsel Beth Bloom. You will serve as Litigation Lead on assigned cases — owning case strategy from investigation through verdict, supervising the associate and paralegal on your team, and sitting as full trial co-counsel on every case you lead. It is a role for a litigator who wants ownership of outcomes, a real courtroom docket, and a path into the firm's leadership.

What You'll Own Across the Case Lifecycle

Our work moves through three zones — Investigation, Litigation, and Trial. As Litigation Lead you carry the case through Litigation and Trial:

  • Case leadership. Own the Case Strategy Plan and Case Workplan; supervise associate and paralegal work; certify that discovery is producing story-aligned, usable proof; and uphold the firm's litigation process standards — checklists, deadlines, the story spine, and discovery discipline.
  • Depositions. Plan and defend client depositions with the Managing Partner, take and defend witness depositions, and integrate human-focused insights into case strategy.
  • Trial. Serve on the trial team of every case you lead as full trial co-counsel — contributing to case theory and jury strategy, owning witness preparation and examination for your witnesses, drafting and arguing motions in limine and jury instructions, and participating in every courtroom decision.

Firm Leadership & the Partnership Track

This role is built to grow into partnership. We are looking for someone who leads with an owner's mindset — weighing the firm's needs alongside their own docket. The position begins as a senior/non-equity role with a clear, good-faith path to equity ownership as the relationship and the firm grow.

What We're Looking For

  • 6 or more years of employment litigation experience, primarily on the plaintiff/employee side (discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and accommodation).
  • Real trial experience and the drive to try cases to juries — first, second, or third chair — and to keep building that record here.
  • Case-team leadership: the ability to own a docket independently while supervising and developing associates and paralegals.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy, with the judgment to evaluate merit, damages, and strategy and advise clients clearly.
  • A genuine commitment to workers' rights, and comfort in a small, feminist, equity-minded, woman-owned firm.
  • Interest in ownership: someone who wants to help build the firm and grow toward equity partnership.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar (or eligibility and willingness to obtain admission promptly).

Schedule & Expectations

Full-time, based in our Eastlake neighborhood office in Seattle. Four days in office, one day work from home. Available weekdays during business hours, with evenings and weekends as case demands require. Minimum 1,600 productive hours annually; CLE attendance counts toward the billable-hour expectation. Active participation in CLE and business development is expected and supported.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: competitive base salary $130,000-$180,000 plus discretionary June and December performance/profitability bonuses.
  • Three weeks paid vacation; eleven paid holidays; two weeks paid sick leave.
  • Health insurance for you, with the option to add family members.
  • 401(k) with firm match, dollar for dollar up to 4% of salary.
  • Firm-paid malpractice insurance and WSBA bar dues.
  • Annual CLE budget (up to $3,000), credited toward the billable-hour expectation.
  • Remote-work equipment provided: laptop, dual monitor, etc.
