Litigation Paralegal
Role: The Litigation Paralegal is integral to firm operations and includes collaboration with attorneys, staff, and clients. The Litigation Paralegal implements our philosophy that justice & equal opportunity are indispensable elements of democracy and well worth fighting for. This position reports to the Managing Partner.
Experience
- 6-10 years of litigation paralegal experience
- Trial experience strongly preferred
- Employment law background a plus, but not required
- Plaintiff-side experience preferred, but not required
- Comfort with and enthusiasm for integrating AI tools into daily workflows
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Job Duties
1. Trial Advocacy. Prepare cases for trial in coordination with attorneys and co-counsel. Evaluate and catalog cases accepted by our firm for trial, including factual analysis, discovery and deposition summaries, document review, and related tasks. Support trial team in coordination with co-counsel legal team in pre-trial, trial, and post-trial matters. Provide intensive support during trial (overtime may be required). Coordinate legal team to maximize profitability through efficiency and appropriate delegation.
2. Litigation. Monitor case filings and calendar all deadlines. Monitor and update firm calendar. Provide attorney support to complete depositions and discovery. Prepare, edit, and file pre-trial motions, jury instructions, and post-trial motions to the court as requested. Coordinate legal team to maximize profitability through efficiency and appropriate delegation.
3. Client-Centered Advocacy. Provide client-focused service, with sensitivity to the demands of litigation and the needs of our diverse clientele. Aim to exceed client expectations every day.
Expectations
1. Accessibility. This is a fulltime position scheduled for 40 hours per week. During peak periods, additional work hours may be required. The Paralegal is expected to be available Monday-Friday during business hours, and evenings and weekends as needed during trials or other high impact times. The Paralegal will work a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days in person in office.
2. Productivity. Time necessary for professional development is included within the billable requirement. In addition, Paralegal is encouraged to join professional associations.

Essential Skills
1. Writing. Ability to synthesize detailed information into succinct, clear, and compelling prose for use in memos and pleadings. Strong proofreading skills.
2. Time Management. Complete timely and accurate work while working efficiently within defined time parameters. Ability to prioritize directions from supervising attorneys/paralegals.
3. Issue Spotting. Possess or develop skills necessary to identify evidence of illegal motive, damages, and defenses relevant to employment discrimination and retaliation cases
4. Strong communication skills. Ability to understand verbal and written communication while seeking clarification necessary to accurately complete assigned work. Ability to communicate in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
5. Strong Interpersonal skills. Interacts well with clients, co-workers, other law firms, and court personnel.
6. Proactive. Initiates research and follow up on tasks as needed while seeking guidance and feedback from attorneys.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: competitive base salary $98-$100K, DOE, plus discretionary June and December performance/profitability bonuses.
