Position Overview

This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for providing structural engineering expertise, design validation, field support, and oversight of large-scale engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Engineering
- Provide advanced structural engineering services for heavy industrial and power plant projects
- Perform detailed structural steel and concrete design, including calculations and analysis
- Develop engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation
- Produce and review structural steel connection designs and calculations
- Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
Field Support & Site Engineering
- Conduct site walkdowns and field assessments at construction and industrial sites
- Provide engineering support during construction, installation, and commissioning activities
- Perform structural inspections and prepare detailed technical reports
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of field-related engineering issues
Project Planning & Coordination
- Provide input on project schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocation
- Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs for structural scopes
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and contractors
- Manage multiple large-scale, complex engineering projects simultaneously
Technical Leadership & Oversight
- Review and check structural designs, calculations, and engineering drawings
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, QA/QC requirements, and best practices
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and deliverables
Compliance & Standards
- Apply and ensure compliance with structural codes, industry standards, and OSHA regulations
- Maintain strong knowledge of safety requirements in industrial and construction environments
- Ensure all engineering work meets regulatory and client-specific requirements
Problem Solving & Decision Making
- Apply advanced analytical and engineering judgment to resolve complex structural issues
- Develop innovative solutions for challenging design and construction problems
- Make independent technical decisions with minimal supervision
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with plant personnel, design engineers, and external vendors
- Build strong working relationships across engineering and construction teams

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
- Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred) OR equivalent experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or strongly preferred
- 10–30 years of experience in heavy industrial or power plant structural engineering
