Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Engineering
- Lead and support the design of electrical power systems, including development of:
- Scope documents and technical specifications
- Single-line diagrams, elementary diagrams, and wiring diagrams
- System layouts, circuitry designs, and equipment configurations
- Ensure all designs meet project requirements, engineering standards, and operational needs
- Apply advanced engineering principles to develop efficient and innovative solutions
Project Management & Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple engineering projects to meet cost and timeline objectives
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, and operations
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve risks and issues
Technical Leadership & Oversight
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers, designers, and drafters
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and design documentation
- Ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy across all deliverables
- Support team development and knowledge sharing
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and QA requirements
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews as needed
- Promote best practices for safety, quality, and compliance
System Testing & Startup Support
- Assist with system checkout, commissioning, and startup activities as required
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of system issues during implementation
- Provide technical guidance during installation and operational phases
Problem Solving & Engineering Analysis
- Perform design evaluations, calculations, and performance assessments
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and recommend corrective actions
- Make independent engineering decisions with appropriate consultation
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, plant personnel, and external vendors
- Coordinate across disciplines to ensure alignment and successful project execution
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required)
- 10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems design
- Proven experience supporting or leading large-scale engineering projects
- Experience in power generation, industrial, or utility environments preferred
