This contract opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) to support the health office at a middle school in Cambridge, MA. This role involves working alongside the primary school nurse, providing essential health services and care for students in a supportive educational environment.
Location: Cambridge, MA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:50 AM 1:50 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Duration: Through June 2026
Setting: School health office
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the primary school nurse in managing daily health office operations
- Provide nursing care and support to students, including those with chronic conditions such as Type 1 Diabetes (currently 5 students)
- Monitor student health, administer medications, and maintain accurate health records
- Collaborate with school staff and families to promote student health and well-being
Qualifications:
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (LPNs are not eligible)
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric healthcare preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
