Registered Nurse School Setting - Dorchester, MA

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This part-time nursing position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized care to a young, active preschool student in a school setting located in Dorchester, MA. The role involves working directly with a 3-year-old student who has a tracheostomy and occasionally requires a ventilator when ill. The nurse will support the student’s health and safety both at school and by accompanying the student on a van before and after school hours.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing skilled nursing care tailored to the student’s medical needs, including tracheostomy and ventilator management
• Riding with the student on transportation to ensure safety and address any medical needs during transit
• Collaborating closely with school staff and family members to coordinate care and support
• Maintaining thorough documentation and adhering to school health protocols

Qualifications desired:

• Active RN or LPN licensure in Massachusetts (RN strongly preferred; CNAs and medical assistants are not eligible)
• Previous school-based nursing experience is required
• Ability to complete CORI background check and fingerprinting processes
• Strong communication skills and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
• Willingness to participate in a Zoom interview process

Position details:

• Schedule: Mondays and Fridays only, on-site at a preschool location
• Contract term: Immediate start through June 30, 2026, with summer work and school year renewal offered
• One opening available
