About the Opportunity
A growing private equity real estate investment firm is looking to hire a Controller / Accounting Manager to join their Dallas office.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on role working directly with the CFO in a lean, entrepreneurial environment, offering exposure across fund, investment, and corporate accounting.
The Role
You’ll take ownership across a broad range of responsibilities, including:
- Managing day-to-day accounting across multiple entities and investment structures
- Leading month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements (GAAP)
- Supporting fund and investment accounting, including:
- Capital calls & distributions
- Investor allocations
- Assisting with investor reporting and financial packages
- Coordinating with auditors, tax advisors, and third-party administrators
- Supporting audit and tax processes, including partnership returns
- Partnering with investment and asset management teams on deal activity
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls
What They’re Looking For
- 5–10 years of experience in:
- Public accounting, fund accounting, or real estate accounting
- Experience with:
- Multi-entity structures
- Financial reporting and close processes
- Exposure to:
- Private equity or real estate investment environments (preferred)
- Understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a lean, hands-on team
👉 CPA is a plus, not required
👉 Exposure to tax or partnership accounting is beneficial
