What are the responsibilities and job description for the BREASTFEEDING PEER COUNSELOR (PART-TIME) position at Bladen County?
JOB To provide outreach, education and support to prenatal and postpartum women; to assist the WIC program staff with implementing activities which increase the number and duration of WIC participants who breastfeed. This position will be limited to the duration of available grant funding. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Assist with the management of the breastfeeding pump loan program. Position will establish relationships and maintain regular contact with prenatal and breastfeeding women who are enrolled in the program; will provide support and information to women who are enrolled in the breastfeeding program and will issue breastfeeding supplies to those enrolled in the program. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Graduation from high school or equivalency; must have breastfed previously or currently.
Special Requirements
Must complete the state approved Breastfeeding Peer Counselor training course.
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
