Support students with significant cognitive and medical needs at an elementary school in Liberty, MO, through a paraprofessional role within a structured classroom environment. This opportunity involves working in a specialized Goals classroom that serves students requiring assistance with adaptive skills, behavioral support, and medical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with significant cognitive disabilities by providing personalized instructional and behavioral support.
- Support students adaptive needs, including assistance with toileting and other medical care as required.
- Implement behavior intervention plans and support positive behavioral outcomes.
- Collaborate with special education staff and follow classroom routines from 8:25 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Ensure students safety and well-being during all activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Paraprofessional certification or substitute certification from DESE, or active RBT certification.
- Experience working with behaviors and supporting students with significant cognitive and medical needs.
- Comfort and competence assisting with toileting and other adaptive skills.
- Previous experience in special education settings is highly desirable.
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening.
- Reliable transportation for commuting to Liberty, MO.
