School Social Worker in Minneapolis, MN

An onsite School Social Worker position is available in Minneapolis, MN, for a 0.9 FTE contract from April 6, 2026, through May 8, 2026. This role involves covering an FMLA leave in a school serving approximately 220 students from grades 3 through 12.

Key responsibilities include providing direct and indirect social work services to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges that may impact academic success. The role requires performing special education due process duties, serving as an administrative designee on IEP teams, facilitating meetings, documenting notes, and completing due process paperwork. Collaboration with staff, families, and administration is essential to promote student success.

The caseload consists of 23 students currently receiving direct services, with two additional students expected after spring break. The total student population receiving IEP services is 43. The role also involves conducting individual student meetings and running two social skills groups.

Qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelors degree in education or a closely related field
• Valid School Social Worker license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE)
• Preferred experience working in school settings
