Desired Qualifications:
- Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for the appropriate grade band (Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary)
- Certified in Rhode Island Structured Literacy, or ability to achieve proficiency within one year, in accordance with the Right to Read Act
- Experience supporting elementary students with varying needs, from mild-to-moderate learning differences to more intensive support
- Skilled at fostering inclusive classrooms, promoting engagement and growth for all learners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and support staff
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Adapt lessons and instruction to align with individual learning plans
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service providers
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies to boost student achievement
- Encourage self-advocacy and independence within your caseload
