This contract opportunity is tailored for experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) seeking meaningful work within Southeast Florida's vibrant school communities. Serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade, this role emphasizes conducting evaluations, particularly for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping the district address evaluation backlogs.
Available positions include full-time and part-time options with assignments at one or two schools. Locations include Oak Hammock K-8 in Port St. Lucie, where you will be part of a DHH Cluster Site alongside one full-time SLP and one full-time SLPA, working two days per week. Alternatively, full-time positions are available split between CA Moore K-7 and FK Sweet Elementary in Ft. Pierce, with CA Moore offering a traditional classroom setting and FK Sweet featuring an ASD unit.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations, with a focus on Autism assessments
- Collaborate with school staff to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district standards
- Engage with students across a range of grade levels from K-8
Qualifications:
- Current active SLP licensure in Florida
- Strong experience completing evaluations for students with Autism
- Ability to work onsite within assigned schools in Southeast Florida
- Willingness to complete fingerprinting as part of credentialing requirements (possible to use Department of Health records)
