School Speech Therapist | Vero Beach, Florida

A Contract Speech-Language Pathologist Certification Fellowship Year (CFY) opportunity is open in Southeast Florida, focusing on public school settings in Vero Beach and surrounding areas. This role supports the local school district by conducting evaluations, specifically assisting with addressing a backlog of assessments within the student population.

This Position Requires Completing Evaluations Primarily For Students With Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Providing Critical Support To The District's Compliance Efforts And Student Services. Assignments May Cover One Or Two Schools, With Options For Full-time Or Part-time Schedules

• Oak Hammock K-8 (Port St. Lucie, FL): Two days per week; part of a team with one full-time SLP and one SLPA, serving a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) cluster site.
• CA Moore K-7 and FK Sweet Elementary (Ft. Pierce, FL): Full-time schedule split between two schools, with FK Sweet including an ASD unit.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure.
• Current Certification Fellowship Year (CFY) credentials.
• Experience with evaluations, particularly involving students with Autism.
• Ability to meet time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including fingerprinting (may be eligible for transfer from Department of Health).

• Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations to support students across assigned schools.
• Collaborate with school teams to interpret and report findings.
• Assist in reducing the districts evaluation backlog.
