You’ll be an essential resource for middle school students, helping them develop crucial communication skills in a supportive, collaborative educational environment.
Your expertise in bilingual (Spanish & English) communication will be a valued asset, supporting a diverse group of learners. Depending on the assignment, you may serve a single school or provide itinerant support to multiple locations, always with an average caseload of around 45 students, well below the maximum state limit.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
- Active IL Professional Educator License with Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) endorsement
- Current IL SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably at the middle school level
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Document student progress and participation according to district guidelines
- Deliver services exclusively on-site (not a remote or virtual role)
