A physical therapist with school-based experience is needed for multiple short-term positions supporting students from early childhood through 12th grade at a special education district in the Waukegan, IL area. These contracts are for the Extended School Year (ESY) program running from June 15, 2026, through July 26, 2026.
Location: Waukegan, Illinois
Position Type: Contract, In-Person
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (with the first and last day ending at 3:15 p.m.)
Grades Served: Early Childhood - 12th Grade
Note: This opportunity is exclusively for physical therapists (PT). PTA applicants will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students with special education needs during the ESY program
- Collaborate with educational staff to support individualized student goals and therapy plans
- Maintain documentation and compliance with school district policies and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Physical Therapy license (active and valid) candidates must provide verification via the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation license lookup
- Experience working in school or pediatric physical therapy settings preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students across a broad developmental spectrum
- Reliable attendance and commitment to the full ESY dates and schedule
