Occupational Therapist School Setting in Schaumburg, IL

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Looking for a rewarding, short-term opportunity working with middle and high school students? This contract position offers a part-time schedule to support Extended School Year (ESY) services in a school environment. You’ll work with a dedicated team focused on helping students succeed, providing occupational therapy support on a Monday through Thursday schedule from 7:45am to 12:15pm.

Ideal candidates are Occupational Therapists (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) with school-based experience who are open to working exclusively with students receiving ESY support. This role allows you to make a real difference during the summer, ensuring continuity of essential services for students in need.

Qualifications:

• Active OT or COTA license in Illinois
• Previous experience in school settings preferred
• Experience working with middle and/or high school students is a plus
• Ability to work part-time hours during the ESY period
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for supporting student growth and independence

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to eligible students
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement IEP goals
• Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district guidelines
• Adapt activities to meet the unique needs of each student
• Support a positive, inclusive educational environment
