Looking for a rewarding, short-term opportunity working with middle and high school students? This contract position offers a part-time schedule to support Extended School Year (ESY) services in a school environment. You’ll work with a dedicated team focused on helping students succeed, providing occupational therapy support on a Monday through Thursday schedule from 7:45am to 12:15pm.
Ideal candidates are Occupational Therapists (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) with school-based experience who are open to working exclusively with students receiving ESY support. This role allows you to make a real difference during the summer, ensuring continuity of essential services for students in need.
Qualifications:
- Active OT or COTA license in Illinois
- Previous experience in school settings preferred
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students is a plus
- Ability to work part-time hours during the ESY period
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for supporting student growth and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to eligible students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement IEP goals
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district guidelines
- Adapt activities to meet the unique needs of each student
- Support a positive, inclusive educational environment
