Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- At least one year of pediatric nursing experience required
- Previous experience working in school settings preferred
- Skilled in caring for non-ambulatory children and safely providing lifting/transport assistance (approx. 24 lbs)
- Confident in the use and management of NG-tubes (distinguished from G-tubes)
- CPR and First Aid certification up to date
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with school staff and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one nursing care for a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD)
- Manage NG-tube feedings and related medical needs throughout the school day
- Ensure safe lifting and transfer of the student between classroom, transportation, and other settings as needed
- Accompany the student on bus rides to and from school, ensuring safety and well-being during transport
- Provide daily documentation and communication with teachers, support staff, and parents regarding the student’s health status
- Follow district protocols and uphold the highest standards of pediatric nursing care
