Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1 years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Embark on an impactful contract assignment supporting students’ communication development in vibrant communities within Prince William County. Work with a dedicated special education team to make a daily difference for children in the Dale City, Dumfries, and Woodbridge areas during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech or Communication Disorders (required)
- Current Virginia SLP license (SLPA license not valid in VA)
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred, but not required
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Commitment to student-centered, inclusive practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist supervising SLPs in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct speech-language services to students, following established goals and treatment plans
- Collect data and maintain thorough documentation of student progress
- Work closely with classroom teachers and other specialists to foster a positive learning environment
- Offer support and resources to families to encourage language development at home
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff trainings, and ongoing professional development opportunities
This contract position is scheduled to begin August 24th, 2026 and run through June 12th, 2027, operating 35 hours per week (7 hours per day). You’ll collaborate with a team committed to nurturing student success, gaining invaluable school-based experience in a diverse educational setting.
