Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A full-time opportunity is available for a General Education Teacher in a K-12 school setting, focusing on supporting student-athletes' health and wellness. This contract position runs through June 18, 2026, with a start date as soon as possible. The role requires 32.5 hours per week and is based in Lowell, MA.Key Responsibilities:Maintain the Trainers room and all necessary equipment to assist student-athletes with health and wellness needsAssist in the recovery process for sports-related injuriesProvide coverage and support at all required sporting events, including practices, attending to student-athletes needing trainer assistance before or after contestsTrack concussion prevention measures and ensure compliance with state laws and district mandatesEnsure athletic staff hold CPR certification and guide coaches on basic health, safety, and first aidProvide coaches with general wellness guidelines for student-athletesMaintain and monitor physical exams to confirm all student-athletes are currentCollaborate with the district oversight physician to facilitate appropriate recovery resources for student-athletesIntroduce injury prevention strategies to student-athletesQualifications and Experience:Bachelors degree in relevant field requiredPrior school-based experience mandatoryCompletion of CORI and fingerprinting per Massachusetts requirementsCurrent CPR Instructor Certification or willingness to obtainBilingual candidates preferred but not requiredAbility to participate in a Zoom interviewLocation: Lowell, MAInterested candidates with the necessary qualifications are encouraged to apply for this rewarding opportunity supporting both academics and athletics in the school community.Compensation for this position ranges from $32.00 to $52.00.
