As the APE provider, you will deliver direct instruction and act as a key consultative resource across multiple campuses, tailoring services to student needs and supporting fellow educators in creating accessible PE experiences.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Adaptive Physical Education certification/licensure (where applicable)
- Professional background working within school environments
- Demonstrated success supporting middle school students with disabilities
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to balance direct student services and consultative support
- Reliable transportation is essential due to travel between district campuses
- Commitment to maintaining punctuality, clear communication regarding absences, and compliance with school protocol
- Must successfully complete a drug screen, fingerprint background, and CORI check
Role Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Provide adaptive PE instruction and therapy to eligible middle-school students district-wide
- Collaborate with school teams to adapt curriculum, equipment, and environment for student engagement
- Consult regularly with educators, families, and specialists to develop and monitor student goals
- Prepare progress reports and participate in IEP or evaluation meetings as needed
- Travel among several schools, ensuring each assigned student receives high-quality, individualized services
- Maintain accurate records and support a positive, inclusive school culture
