Big Night Entertainment Group - Senior Accountant

Brief Description

As an Accountant, a typical day might include the following:

• Processing the monthly close process for assigned venues, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly and yearly P&L statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness before management review
• Posting and reviewing journal entries for sales, A/P, A/R, payroll, inventory, prepaid expenses, and accruals
• Preparing and reviewing reconciliations for cash and other balance sheet accounts
• Reconciling all intercompany transactions
• Preparing and submitting monthly sales/use tax filing; assisting with annual filings and audits
• Utilizing Workday for financial transactions, reporting, and process optimization
• Assisting with year end financial review
• Maintaining financial controls and processes
• Supporting Accountants, reviewing their work for accuracy and offering feedback
• Collaborating closely with venue management, the talent team, and other departments on financial matters to resolve accounting issues
• Other duties as assigned
  
  
  

Requirements

This job might be for you if you demonstrate the following abilities and meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and month-end close responsibilities
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; MBA or CPA is a plus
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles
• Hospitality, entertainment, or food & beverage industry experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in WorkDay; experience with inventory management software is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Must be organized and possess attention to detail
• Able to multitask and prioritize work
• Cooperative and willing to assist others

• This position is located in beautiful new office at The Hub on Causeway with scenic views of the Zakim bridge. This full-time role is office-based and is NOT a remote opportunity

• May be required to lift or move up to 30 lbs using proper lifting techniques and work in a fast-paced, high energy environment
