Job Summary:
Beyonder Camp - Cajun Moon is seeking a skilled and proactive Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform maintenance and repairs throughout our campground and motel facilities. The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of all buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role requires a broad range of maintenance skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead and coordinate maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:

General Maintenance and Repairs: Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks and repairs, including but not limited to:

Grounds Maintenance: Oversee and participate in grounds maintenance tasks, including:

Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for buildings, equipment, and vehicles to minimize breakdowns and ensure longevity.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and diagnose maintenance issues efficiently and develop effective solutions.

Supervision and Coordination: Lead and coordinate the work of other maintenance staff or seasonal helpers, providing guidance and ensuring tasks are completed effectively and to a high standard.
- Work Order Management: Receive, prioritize, and complete maintenance work orders in a timely manner, documenting work performed.
Plumbing: Fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing toilets and faucets. Electrical: Troubleshooting minor electrical issues, replacing light fixtures and outlets (within safety guidelines).
Carpentry: Basic repairs to structures, decks, fences, and furniture.
Painting and Touch-Ups: Maintaining the appearance of buildings and structures.
HVAC: Basic troubleshooting and maintenance (e.g., changing filters, recognizing issues requiring professional service).
Appliance Repair: Diagnosing and repairing minor issues with appliances in motel rooms and common areas.
Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and maintaining landscaping. Maintaining roadways, pathways, and parking areas.
Ensuring proper operation of irrigation systems.
Managing waste disposal and ensuring cleanliness of outdoor areas.

Inventory Management: Monitor and manage maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock and proper storage.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Identify and address potential safety hazards.

Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks when necessary, ensuring work is completed to satisfaction and within budget.

Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duties or to respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.

Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a professional and helpful manner, responding to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and repair of campground equipment (e.g., golf carts, mowers, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (typically 3 years) in general maintenance, preferably in a hospitality, campground, apartment, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Experience with grounds maintenance and landscaping.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues effectively.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and instructions.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
