Job Summary:
Beyonder Camp - Sleepy Hollow is seeking a skilled and proactive Full-Time Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform maintenance and repairs throughout our campground and any associated lodging facilities. The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of all buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role requires a broad range of maintenance skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead and coordinate maintenance tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and a positive guest experience.
Responsibilities:

General Maintenance and Repairs: Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks and repairs, including but not limited to:
- Grounds Maintenance Oversight: Lead and participate in grounds maintenance tasks, ensuring the campground and surrounding areas are well-maintained:
Plumbing: Fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing toilets, faucets, and water lines.
Electrical: Troubleshooting minor electrical issues, replacing light fixtures, outlets, switches, and ensuring electrical safety (within safety guidelines and local codes).
Carpentry: Basic repairs to structures, decks, fences, picnic tables, and furniture. Painting and Touch-Ups: Maintaining the appearance of buildings and structures, both interior and exterior.
HVAC: Basic troubleshooting and maintenance (e.g., changing filters, cleaning coils, recognizing issues requiring professional service for furnaces and air conditioning units).
Appliance Repair: Diagnosing and repairing minor issues with appliances in lodging units and common areas (e.g., refrigerators, microwaves).
Minor Equipment Repair: Performing basic maintenance and repairs on campground equipment (e.g., mowers, small engines).
Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and maintaining landscaping.
Maintaining roadways, pathways, campsites, and parking areas, including gravel and minor repairs.
Ensuring proper operation of any irrigation or sprinkler systems.
Managing waste disposal and ensuring cleanliness of all outdoor areas.
Snow removal and ice management during winter months to ensure safe access.

Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for buildings, equipment, and vehicles to minimize breakdowns and ensure longevity, including regular inspections and servicing.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and diagnose maintenance issues efficiently and develop effective solutions, escalating complex issues to management or external contractors as needed.

Supervision and Coordination: Lead, train, and coordinate the work of other maintenance staff or seasonal helpers, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed effectively, safely, and to a high standard.

Work Order Management: Receive, prioritize, and complete maintenance work orders in a timely manner, documenting work performed, materials used, and time spent.

Inventory Management: Monitor and manage maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels, proper organization, and secure storage.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Identify and address potential safety hazards, and conduct safety checks as needed.

Vendor Management: Obtain quotes and coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks when necessary, ensuring work is completed to satisfaction and within budget, with management approval.

Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duties or to respond to maintenance emergencies during operating hours and potentially after hours as needed.

Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a professional and helpful manner, responding to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently, and striving to enhance their stay.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, equipment servicing, and inventory.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and repair of campground vehicles and equipment (e.g., golf carts, tractors, mowers, trailers).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (typically 3 years) in general maintenance, preferably in a hospitality, campground, apartment, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance practices and procedures across various trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Experience with grounds maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal.
