POSITION SUMMARY: The Infrastructure Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions. This role serves as a technical expert, ensuring the seamless integration of cloud services with enterprise systems while optimizing performance, security, and cost. The engineer will lead infrastructure projects, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure capabilities with business objectives. Key responsibilities include managing hybrid and multi-cloud environments, driving automation efforts, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")
- Design, implement, and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other data communications systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and adaptability to emerging technologies.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to maintain high availability and reliability of network infrastructure for both Beusa and Fleet networks.
- Configure and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and Starlink devices, while exploring innovative solutions to support evolving organizational needs.
- Develop and enforce forward-thinking network policies and procedures that align with industry standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
- Implement and oversee cutting-edge network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs, to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate innovative network solutions with other systems and applications, ensuring seamless and future-ready operations across the organization.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions with a focus on leveraging new and emerging technologies to drive infrastructure improvement and organizational growth.
- Maintain comprehensive and accessible documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure operational clarity and compliance.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on network-related issues, emphasizing innovation, cybersecurity best practices, and proactive problem recognition techniques.
- Stay ahead of advancements in networking technologies, cybersecurity trends, and innovative practices, recommending creative solutions to enhance network performance, scalability, and security.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing, including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
- Possesses a valid U.S. Driver’s License. Employment is contingent upon meeting the company's driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with the company's policy.
- Daily overtime required and in-person, predictable attendance.
- Proficiency in the spoken English language.
- Daily in-person, predictable attendance in The Woodlands, TX.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in application development and support.
- At least 5 years of team management experience in an IT setting.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES:
Technical Expertise:
- Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with cloud service providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings.
- Virtualization & Containerization: Proficiency in tools like VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, and Kubernetes for managing virtualized environments and containerized workloads.
- Networking: Advanced understanding of network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing in hybrid cloud environments.
- Storage & Backup: Familiarity with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud storage) and backup technologies to ensure data availability and protection.
- Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of cloud security practices, identity and access management (IAM), and encryption standards.
- Monitoring & Performance Management: Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Splunk, CloudWatch, or New Relic to ensure system health, reliability, and scalability.
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Ability to design and implement DR and HA solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.

Frequently required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, and squat/kneel. An Infrastructure Systems Engineer works primarily indoors and will be sitting for prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. The Infrastructure Systems Engineer may be required to lift heavy objects; therefore, the Infrastructure Systems Engineer must be able to lift 25lbs.
Work hours may include early morning, late afternoon/evening hours, and weekends in combination, depending on job demands.
