Masking Technician

We are looking for a Masking Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will help prepare parts for coating at both our Teknicote and Medicote facilities. Proper masking ensures high-quality finishes, protects designated areas, and maintains customer specifications. Travel between the two locations is required, and employees are reimbursed at the approved IRS mileage rate.

Shift: 5 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. You may be required to train, work on another shift occasionally, or work mandatory overtime as business needs arise.

Responsibilities:

• Apply masking tape, plugs, caps, and other materials according to instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• Inspect parts before and after masking for defects, cleanliness, and compliance.
• Remove masking materials post-coating without damaging parts or finishes.
• Maintain accurate labeling and organization of parts across both facilities.
• Communicate issues, discrepancies, or defects to supervisors or the quality team.
• Assist with general production tasks as needed.
• Maintains a clean, organized, safe, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with company and OSHA regulations.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in masking, coating, manufacturing, or industrial production is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed instructions and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
• Manual dexterity for handling small or intricate parts.
• Must have reliable transportation for travel between facilities.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand motions.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to read written purchase orders, specification sheets, and other paperwork pertinent to the job.
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
