Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain execution across a growing portfolio of energy storage projects.
This individual will play a critical role in ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality procurement of key project components—including battery systems, inverters, transformers, balance-of-plant equipment, and EPC services.
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, pre-construction, finance, and project execution teams to support projects from early-stage development through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Lead procurement of major equipment packages:
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Inverters / PCS
- Transformers and switchgear
- Balance-of-plant and electrical components
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies aligned with project pipeline
- Identify, qualify, and manage relationships with global and domestic suppliers
Vendor & Contract Management
- Lead RFP/RFQ processes, bid evaluations, and supplier selection
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, warranties, and service agreements
- Develop and manage supply agreements, MSAs, and EPC-related contracts
- Maintain preferred vendor lists and long-term supplier partnerships
Project Support & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Pre-Construction and Engineering teams to:
- Align procurement with design specifications
- Support value engineering and cost optimization
- Work with Project Managers to ensure procurement schedules align with construction timelines
- Support Finance with cost forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning
Supply Chain & Risk Management
- Track and manage global supply chain risks, including lead times, logistics, and pricing volatility
- Develop mitigation strategies for critical equipment (e.g., long-lead items like transformers and batteries)
- Coordinate logistics, shipping, and delivery schedules to project sites
Cost Control & Reporting
- Develop and maintain procurement budgets and cost tracking tools
- Analyze vendor pricing and market trends to drive cost savings
- Provide regular reporting on procurement status, risks, and opportunities
Qualifications
Required
- 5–10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within:
- Renewable energy (BESS, solar, wind)
- Power / utilities / transmission & distribution
- Infrastructure or EPC environments
- Proven experience sourcing electrical equipment and/or energy systems
- Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating contracts and pricing
- Experience managing multiple vendors and complex project procurement cycles
