Job Title: Research Associate I
Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080 (Onsite)
Employment Type: W2 Contract, 3 Year Contract with possibility for extensions
Pay Rate: $45.00 – $48.28/hour (based on experience)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (PT)

Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking an Research Associate I to join a cutting-edge Synthetic Molecule Analytical Chemistry team. This role focuses on the characterization and analysis of drug substances, including small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides, supporting drug discovery and development initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled in chromatography, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical characterization of synthetic drug substances and delivery systems
- Develop and optimize chiral and achiral HPLC methods
- Execute analytical testing using UHPLC-MS, multidimensional HPLC, GC, KF, UV, and CAD
- Document experiments, analyze data, and prepare technical summaries and reports
- Troubleshoot analytical methods and resolve technical challenges
- Support drug discovery, pharmaceutics, and process chemistry teams
- Evaluate and implement new analytical technologies
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with laboratory standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support project goals
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or analytical laboratory environments
- Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry principles
- Hands-on experience with HPLC and chromatography techniques
- Ability to interpret and report analytical data
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with pharmaceutical or biotech industry applications
- Knowledge of drug discovery, solid-state characterization, or pharmaceutics
- Familiarity with advanced analytical instrumentation
Work Environment:
- Fully onsite role in a laboratory and R&D setting
