Job Title: Construction & Safety Project Manager
Location: San Jose, CA 95134 (100% Onsite)
Employment Type: W2 Contract, 8 Month Contract with possibility for extensions
Pay Rate: $90.00 – $96.22 per hour (based on experience)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours
Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking a Construction & Safety Project Manager to oversee construction, safety, and quality operations for a large-scale capital project in San Jose, CA. This role supports retrofit and expansion projects, including cleanroom and equipment installations within a semiconductor R&D environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong construction management experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to lead complex projects in regulated, high-tech environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee construction activities, contractors, and job sites to ensure safety, quality, and compliance
- Drive a zero-incident safety culture across all project activities
- Partner with EHS, quality teams, and contractors to resolve safety and quality concerns
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Manage day-to-day construction coordination to ensure efficiency and schedule adherence
- Review and ensure work aligns with project specifications, standards, and procedures
- Manage change orders, including cost review, justification, and negotiation
- Monitor and track construction schedules, costs, and progress reports
- Coordinate project meetings, updates, and reporting with stakeholders
- Support permitting processes and building inspections with regulatory authorities
- Conduct quality assurance inspections during and post-construction
- Oversee contractor onboarding and compliance
- Provide KPI reporting (safety metrics, construction hours, progress updates)
Qualifications:
- 8–10 years of construction management experience (California experience required)
- Strong knowledge of construction safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Experience with commercial construction, cleanrooms, or semiconductor facilities
- Proven ability to manage large-scale capital projects (~$25M)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally
Required Certifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- OSHA 30 Certification (required)
- Experience with accident investigations and reporting
- Knowledge of ASME, ACI, and building construction standards
- First Aid & CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cleanroom construction and chemical process installations
- Familiarity with risk assessments and mitigation planning
- Experience working in regulated or high-tech environments (semiconductor, pharma, etc.)
Work Environment:
- 100% onsite at a construction project site
- Fast-paced environment requiring coordination with multiple teams and contractors
- Strong focus on safety, compliance, and quality assurance
