Lab Technician I

BEPC is actively looking for Lab Technician I, in South San Francisco, CA area!

W2 Contract – 12 months with possible extensions!

Pay Rate: $21.56 - $24.94/hour - Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Work Model: Fully onsite - Monday through Friday - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT

Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C, C2H will not be considered

Summary of the Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Lab Technician I to join our client’s site in South San Francisco, CA. This role will support physical testing of medical devices and combination products for R&D, verification, complaints, and stability programs. The position performs laboratory testing in a cGMP environment while supporting technical and compliance requirements. The Lab Technician I will actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to maintain operational excellence, product supply, and cost effectiveness.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership

• Create an environment of strong team spirit with timely and effective communications.
• Develop the ability to influence using technical and personal reasoning.

Technical Responsibilities

• Perform a broad variety of basic and moderately complex tests in support of laboratory operations.
• Perform testing of routine and non-routine samples.
• Perform routine laboratory maintenance.
• Order and maintain laboratory supply inventory.
• Perform sample filling and decontamination.
• Assist in laboratory complaint investigations.
• Receive and provide training.
• Coordinate with the laboratory supervisor to support operational activities.
• Identify and support resolution of technical problems.
• Actively participate in group and project teamwork, including project and process improvements.
• Resolve issues as needed with management approval.
• Adhere to cGMP policies and procedures, including documentation activities.
• Meet scheduled performance of 95% on-time completion.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor or manager to support Quality.

Main Qualifications:

Education: B.S./B.A. (preferably in a relevant scientific discipline) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred but not required. 1–5 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• Basic knowledge of scientific theories, principles, and techniques used in physical testing procedures.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, reasoning, and problem-solving.
• Ability to complete assigned responsibilities in a timely manner under minimal supervision while keeping management informed of status.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment / Physical Demands / Safety Considerations:

• Work Environment: Majority of work is performed onsite in a laboratory setting.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform repetitive motions and manual manipulation of samples.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Safety Considerations:

• Work is performed in a laboratory environment.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals may occur.
• Work requires the use of glassware, needles, and syringes.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as a lab coat and safety glasses, may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline.
