Project Accountant
Kansas City, MO (onsite)
$70-90k/year plus bonus
The Project Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions and project-based accounting procedures. The project accountant will work with members of the project team, which includes the project manager, engineers, estimators, field supervisors, and equipment management personnel, and the accounting and finance team, which includes the CFO, accounting manager, payroll manager, project accountants, and equipment accountant.
Essential Responsibilities
- Coordinate job setup and organization with the project managers
- Manage the monthly payment application process with project managers, subcontractors, and client teams
- Review and administer contracts, subcontracts, and purchase agreements, which include monitoring insurance certificates, bonds, and lien waivers
- Administer and track contract performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Manage change orders, amendments, and claims to minimize risk and maintain profitability
- Review and maintain accurate Project Cost reporting and investigate any unusual transactions
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to resolve contractual issues.
- Assist with financial aspects of the project close-out
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and reporting.
- Assist with general accounting functions, as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Construction accounting experience preferred
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
